If it’s one thing I love, it’s having a go to hobby or hobbies. A few years ago, I found myself curating an “anxiety basket” filled different activities that I can reach for whenever I felt anxious. To this day, (anxiety is gone by God’s grace) I still have my arsenal, only now, it’s called my “Cozy basket”. I think a lot of people have lost touch with their inner child, which saddens me. I know we all have adult responsibilities, bills, kids, families, work etc. but we need to find balance in this journey we call life. Like the saying goes “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. I don’t care how busy your life is, it is essential to make time for the things you love, to help you relax and find that balance in your life. Get back in touch with your inner child and do something that brings you joy.
In today’s post I’m going to share with you some things that I do to stay in touch with my inner child and not only are they fun, they’re stress relieving.
COLOURING
These are what I currently do and will have a link to all the items to my LTK where you can purchase the items if so desire.

These are some of my completed work.

Do not underestimate the power of a cup of your fave drink, a warm blanket, fireplace going (or YouTube version☺️), and some lofi, jazz or Christmas music playing softly, with a good colouring book. Colouring is one of my fave past times to this day and I encourage you to give it a try if you haven’t as yet. I recently got into “cozy colouring” which features books from Vivi Tinta and Coco Wyo. The image above is from Fuzzy Hygge colouring book by Vivi Tinta. I’m learning new techniques of highlighting, lighting and shadow work and it’s been such a treat implementing these in my colouring. When I’m not colouring in my physical book, I.m doing it on my iPad through the Happy Colour app.
Paint by number is something I started doing last year and I truly feel like an artist when I set up my little tabletop easel and drown out the world😅. I will say if you don’t have patience then this may not be for you, as some of them ca n be quite intricate. They do have the kiddie ones you can try if you don’t have the patience. however, if you like the idea of something slowly coming together then this is your sign to purchase one.
NEW HOBBIES
So, now that I’ve shared love for colouring and painting, I wanted to also share some a list of hobbies I plan on starting:
- Crocheting; beginner set
- Lego building; Lego set
- Embroidery; Embroidery kit
These are a few of the things want to try. I already have a crochet and embroidery kit, I just need to start. While it’s good to have a hobby or hobbies that you enjoy, it doesn’t hurt to step out and try something new and/or challenging.
I hope this post helps you, just in case you were looking for a new hobby to try out.
X,
Abi💛
