Hey friends! Welcome back to another post.
Have you ever sat and thought about the things that add joy to your life? If no, I’d like to encourage you to sit and really think about the things that bring a smile to your face. It can be anything, big or small.
Today, I want to share with you some of the things that add joy to my life.
- God– Having a relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ brings me the ultimate joy.
- Charlie: My husband has been and still is a massive ray of sunshine in my life.
- Sex: I waited forever and a day so I am thoroughly enjoying it😌😏 an orgasm or two a day keeps the doctor away.
- Reading: I’ve been an avid reader all my life and that will never change. There’s just something about getting lost in a good book.
- Walks: Not only is it good for you physically but it also helps provide mental clarity. I have three types of walk: a)quiet, observant walks. b)podcast or music walks and c)prayer walks.
- Intimacy: Often times people confuse intmacy with sex, and while it can be infused with love making, intimacy on its own is beautiful. Think hugs, butt smacks😏, kisses, cuddling and snuggling etc.
- Sunshine: Nothing beats feeling the sun on your skin (please wear sunscreen).
- Birds chirping: I love being woken up to the sounds of bird chirps, there’s something so peaceful about it.
- Clean home: This is one thing I do NOT play about. Cleanliness is nect to Godliness. I love having our home clean and smelling good at all times. Also, I may or maynot have slight OCD😀
- Fresh sheets: Something about laying on fresh sheets soothes my soul
- Showering: Ok, we may be seeing a pattern here. Showering is meant to clean your body and it actually brings me joy to get clean and smell great.
- Jewellery: I’ve recently gotten back into purchasing and building my jewellery collection again and I am having quite a lot of fun doing so.
- Cartoons: The 90s had the BEST cartoons and I will forever stand by that. Present day me still enjoys scooby and the gang + Bugs and his gang.
- Blankets + Socks + Robes: The fuzzier/fluffier the better.
- The sound of rain/water: As a child I loved hearing the sound of rain hitting the roof or window panes. It soothed me and to this day as an adult, it still has the same effect. In fact, my husband and I fall asleep to the sounds of rain or a brook through Alexa.
- Colouring: Coluring as an adult hits better than as a child. I find it very relaxing and grounding. Also, there is the bonus of watching the picture come together at the end.
- Flowers: I love having fresh flowers in our home, it’s natures way of adding colour and vibrancy to our surroundings. Carnations and Tulips are my faves.
I can go on and on; however, I’ll stop here before this list becomes neverending. Perhaps I’ll make a part two later on. I’d love to know one thing that brings you joy, so feel free to leave a comment.
Until next time, Abi🤎
