The devil is roaming this world and people are letting him use them to do his bidding. It’s scary and sad. 1 Peter 5:8
I don’t know if you’ve noticed the things going on in this world but it is too much and sadly it keeps getting worse day by day.
Wars, inflation, death, sickness, greed, overconsumption, social media, heartlessness, vanity, selfishness, remorselessness, evil, hatred, jealousy, anger, corruption, power imbalances etc., are all things that are becoming more and more apparent these days and at scary levels.
I’ve stopped watching the news over 5 years ago and I deleted all social media (except YouTube) three years ago. The news is nothing but a negative cesspool and social media is even worse. Before deleteing them all, I tried curating my feed to show me what I actually wanted to see but we all know that no longer works. Now, I’m in the process of purging YouTube because the moment you click on one headline, it starts showing you similar stories. I’ve had enough. It’s too much.
This past week alone, it seemed you couldn’t escape the murder headlines: Father kills his 8 children, influencer runs over another with her car, influencer is allegedly killed by her fiance, woman kills fast food worker over onion rings etc. Sometimes, I think we’re living in a simulation because the blantant disregard for life among humans has surpassed mind-boggling.
I juts know that God is looking down on us and shaking his head. I know it breaks his heart seeing the wanton behaviour humans are displaying. Everyday, I pray and ask him to have mercy on us all. People are just living anyhow and with no remorse or repentance, it’s quite sad to see. I truly pray that more will encounter Jesus and give their lives to him.
Now more than ever, I am clinging to the cross and seeking God’s face because when he comes back for his world, I do not want to hear “I never knew you” (Matthew 7:23, Matthew 25:41).
If you’re feeling heavy and looking for solace, I want to encourage you to try Jesus if you haven’t as yet. He’s always waiting with open arms. I want to share some verses that you can pray everyday, remebering that although it’s chaotic out there, our life doesn’t have to reflect what’s going on in this world. Jesus Christ came so that we may have life and that more abundantly (John 10:10) and he’s given us peace that this world cannot give (John 14:27).

These are just a few verses that you can pray over yourself and your family, declaring God’s protection over your lives. Also, please be aware of how much you’re consuming. It’s so easy to say “I want to be informed”, which is fine but protect yoourself at the same time. I don’t think our brains were meant too consume so much negativity.
Until next time, Abi🤎
